Moroism.org

I CREATED AN community online to serve as a 'space' for Filipino and Moro intellectuals, artists, readers and students to discuss and reach out to each other for discourses, pedantry and exchanges on issues and themes of postcoloniality (and coloniality) and the dynamic relationships of Moro-Filipino consciousness, expressions, narratives, and subject-positions and the spaces created by these relationships.

This endeavor  is borne out of seemingly inadequate spaces provided by Facebook and other social media sites for discussions. One limitation of a Facebook 'comment' and 'status' is we tend to express our thoughts in haste - and usually this does not lead us to a careful evaluation of our ideas and perspectives before sharing it to the world.

Moroism.org is managed by me and my few Moro colleagues and friends in the university and on the ground who are into Moro and Philippine studies. Ideas to be presented to the public will pass through the interventions of editor/s and core members of the group before publication. And the public - Moros and Filipinos alike - can join the discussions on various areas such as but not limited to literature, politics, history, popular culture, Islamic studies by creating an account in the site.

Kabayaan Ka will remain to be my personal blog (and my personal Facebook account will soon be 'inactive' as I will transfer some of the contents here and in Moroism.org including entries from collaborative effort, a project-in-progress, with photographer-friend Alberto Bainto for Sa Kabila ng Lahat). Of course, I still would like to keep in touch with you who's with me for almost five years now.

For the first quarter of 2014 Moroism.org announces the 'pitched' topics for discussions. I am sharing the announcement for the readers and frequent visitors of Kabayaan Ka so you, too, can join the discussion and be part of the community.
Moroism.org  invites the community to join the discussions to further the discourse onMoroism.
